Overview

The Corsair Vengeance RGB is a 16GB DDR5 kit of 2 x 8GB modules, rated for 6,000 MT/s at 36-44-44-96 timings and 1.35V. Vengeance RGB has an aluminium heat spreader topped by a light bar with ten individually addressable RGB LEDs per module, controlled from Corsair iCUE; this Z36 version carries both AMD EXPO and Intel XMP profiles. Corsair's 2x8GB DDR5-6000 kits were among the five best-selling DDR5 kits on Amazon US in 2026, as the memory shortage pushed buyers to 16GB.

It carries both AMD EXPO and Intel XMP 3.0 profiles, so it suits Ryzen 7000 and 9000 (AM5) and Intel Core Ultra 200S (LGA1851) and DDR5 LGA1700 boards alike. Without the profile it runs at the default 4,800 MT/s CL40 at 1.10V; one BIOS setting brings it to 6,000 MT/s.

16GB is the entry point for a 2026 gaming PC: most games run well, but large open-world games, streaming and a browser full of tabs can push past it. With DDR5 prices up sharply in 2026, a 2x8GB kit is the budget way into a new AM5 or Intel Core Ultra build; adding a second kit later is not recommended, so choose 32GB if the budget allows.

Questions and answers

Still unsure? Visit the help center or message us.

Will this kit work with my motherboard?

It fits DDR5 desktop boards and has profiles for both platforms: EXPO for AMD AM5 and XMP 3.0 for Intel LGA1851 and LGA1700. It does not fit DDR4 boards.

How do I get the rated 6,000 MT/s?

Enable the EXPO or XMP profile in the BIOS. Without it the kit runs at the default 4,800 MT/s CL40 at 1.10V. Rated speeds depend on the CPU's memory controller and the board, so a few systems need a BIOS update first.

Does it have RGB lighting?

Yes. Control it from Corsair iCUE, or from motherboard RGB software that supports Corsair memory.

Is 16GB enough?

16GB is the entry point for a 2026 gaming PC: most games run well, but large open-world games, streaming and a browser full of tabs can push past it. With DDR5 prices up sharply in 2026, a 2x8GB kit is the budget way into a new AM5 or Intel Core Ultra build; adding a second kit later is not recommended, so choose 32GB if the budget allows.
