Overview
The Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 GRE Gaming OC 12GB is Gigabyte's triple-fan RX 9070 GRE, the RX 9070 GRE card Tom's Hardware names and the cheapest one in stock at US retailers in late October 2026. It has 3,072 stream processors and 12GB of GDDR6 on a 192-bit bus at 18 Gbps, for 432 GB/s of bandwidth. Gigabyte runs it at 2,920 MHz boost out of the box, against AMD's 2,790 MHz reference figure. It is built for 1440p gaming with FSR 4.
It is 288 mm long and 50 mm (2.5 slots) thick and takes two standard 8-pin cables, so it suits most mid-tower cases. Board power is 220W (AMD reference; Gigabyte publishes no figure), Gigabyte recommends a 750W power supply, and it takes 2x 8-pin PCIe. For cooling it uses WINDFORCE: three Hawk fans spinning in alternate directions with fan stop. Other features: metal backplate, factory overclock.
For local AI, 12GB holds 8B models at 8-bit and 12B to 14B models at 4-bit, with 432 GB/s keeping token generation quick; a 32B model needs a 24GB or larger card. AMD supports RDNA 4 in ROCm, and llama.cpp, Ollama and LM Studio run on it through ROCm or Vulkan; tools that only support CUDA will not run on it.

Questions and answers
Still unsure? Visit the help center or message us.
What power supply does the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 GRE Gaming OC need?
Gigabyte recommends 750W, which allows for a high-end CPU as well. It uses 2x 8-pin PCIe, standard cables that most power supplies have.
Will the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 GRE Gaming OC fit my case?
It is 288 mm long and 50 mm (2.5 slots) thick and takes two standard 8-pin cables, so it suits most mid-tower cases.
Is 12GB enough for local AI?
For local AI, 12GB holds 8B models at 8-bit and 12B to 14B models at 4-bit, with 432 GB/s keeping token generation quick; a 32B model needs a 24GB or larger card.
Does it work with AI tools that need CUDA?
No. CUDA is NVIDIA-only. AMD supports RDNA 4 in ROCm, and llama.cpp, Ollama and LM Studio run on it through ROCm or Vulkan, so popular local-AI apps work, but tools written only for CUDA do not.
