Overview
The G.SKILL Flare X5 is a 192GB DDR5 kit of 4 x 48GB modules, rated for 6,000 MT/s at 28-36-36-96 timings and 1.40V through its AMD EXPO profile. It is a four-module 192GB kit rated at 6000 MT/s CL28, an aggressive rating for four DIMMs, in the 33 mm low-profile Flare X5 design.
It carries an AMD EXPO profile, so it is aimed at Ryzen 7000 and 9000 (AM5) boards. Without the profile it runs at the default 5600 MT/s at 1.10V; one BIOS setting brings it to 6,000 MT/s. Four modules load the memory controller more than two, so stability at the rated speed depends on the board and CPU; check the board's memory support list before ordering.
192GB is workstation territory on a desktop board. For local AI, 192GB holds mixture-of-experts models of up to roughly 200B parameters at 4-bit, or a 70B model at 8-bit, running on the CPU or split with a GPU.

Will this kit work with my motherboard?
It fits any DDR5 desktop board, and its EXPO profile targets AMD AM5 (Ryzen 7000 and 9000). Intel boards can run it at default speed or with manual settings. It does not fit DDR4 boards.
How do I get the rated 6,000 MT/s?
Enable the AMD EXPO profile in the BIOS. Without it the kit runs at the default 5600 MT/s. Rated speeds depend on the CPU's memory controller and the board, so a small number of systems need a BIOS update or a slightly lower speed.
Is four-module DDR5 stable?
It is harder for the memory controller than two modules. G.SKILL rates this kit as a matched set of four at the speed shown, but whether a given board and CPU hold it depends on the system. Update the BIOS and check the board's memory support list; if needed, run it a step slower.
Is 192GB enough for local AI?
For local AI, 192GB holds mixture-of-experts models of up to roughly 200B parameters at 4-bit, or a 70B model at 8-bit, running on the CPU or split with a GPU.
Can I add another kit later?
Memory makers sell kits as matched sets and advise against mixing kits, even identical ones, because the modules are tested together. Buy the total capacity you want as one kit.
