Overview

The NVIDIA RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell is a dual-slot workstation card with 10,496 CUDA cores, fifth-generation Tensor cores and 32GB of GDDR7 with ECC on a 256-bit bus, for 896 GB/s. NVIDIA rates it at 51 TFLOPS single precision and 1,617 AI TOPS (FP4 with sparsity). It is built for CAD, 3D rendering, simulation, video production and AI development, and runs NVIDIA's enterprise drivers with ISV certifications.

The card measures 10.5 x 4.4 in (about 267 x 112 mm), is full height and two slots thick, and uses a blower fan that pushes hot air out through the rear bracket, which suits workstations with several GPUs in adjacent slots. Board power is 200W through one PCIe CEM5 16-pin connector; NVIDIA and PNY do not publish a power supply recommendation. Outputs are four DisplayPort 2.1b, driving four 4K displays at 165 Hz or two 8K displays at 100 Hz, and the pictured card is PNY's version (part VCNRTXPRO4500B-PB).

For local AI, 32GB holds 32B models at 4-bit to 6-bit with room for long context, or models up to about 27B at 8-bit, and ECC guards long-running jobs against memory errors. A 70B model at 4-bit needs around 40GB, so it needs two cards or will spill into system memory. CUDA support is broad, so PyTorch, llama.cpp, Ollama and most other AI frameworks run on it directly.

Questions and answers

Still unsure? Visit the help center or message us.

What power supply does the RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell need?

NVIDIA and PNY do not publish a minimum power supply rating for this card. It draws up to 200W through one PCIe CEM5 16-pin connector, so the power supply needs a 16-pin cable or a suitable adapter, plus enough headroom for the rest of the workstation and any additional GPUs. Push the 16-pin plug in until it is fully seated with no visible gap, and avoid bending the cable sharply right at the connector.

Will the RTX PRO 4500 fit my workstation?

It is a full-height, dual-slot card, 10.5 in long and 4.4 in tall (about 267 x 112 mm), and it needs a PCIe x16 slot. The blower cooler exhausts heat through the rear bracket, so several cards can sit in adjacent slots, provided the case and power supply can support them.

How does it compare with the RTX PRO 4000 and RTX PRO 6000?

The RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell is a single-slot card with 8,960 CUDA cores, 24GB of GDDR7 at 672 GB/s and 145W board power. The RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition has 24,064 CUDA cores, 96GB at 1,792 GB/s and 600W board power, with a larger flow-through cooler and MIG support. The RTX PRO 4500 sits between them with 10,496 CUDA cores, 32GB at 896 GB/s and 200W in a dual-slot blower design.

Which local AI models fit in 32GB of VRAM?

Roughly, 32B models at 4-bit to 6-bit with plenty of room for context, or models up to about 27B at 8-bit. A 70B model at 4-bit needs around 40GB, so it will not fit entirely; it would have to spill into system memory or be split across two cards.

Does it have ECC memory and MIG support?

It has ECC: the 32GB of GDDR7 uses error-correcting code, which helps long renders and compute jobs run without memory errors. NVIDIA does not list Multi-Instance GPU (MIG) for the RTX PRO 4500; it lists MIG for the RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell, with up to four instances.
