Overview
The G.SKILL Trident Z5 NeoX RGB is a 32GB DDR5 kit of 2 x 16GB modules, rated for 6,000 MT/s at 1.35V with two AMD EXPO profiles: an ultra-low-latency profile at 30-38-38-32 and a standard profile at 30-38-38-96. Trident Z5 NeoX RGB is a 2026 addition to G.SKILL's Trident Z5 family for AMD, with a dark grey aluminium heat spreader and an RGB light bar.
It carries two AMD EXPO profiles, so it is aimed at Ryzen 7000 and 9000 (AM5) boards. Without the profile it runs at the default 4800 MT/s at 1.10V; one BIOS setting brings it to 6,000 MT/s.
32GB is the standard amount for a 2026 gaming PC: modern games, voice chat and a browser full of tabs run comfortably, and it handles 1080p and 1440p video editing. For local AI on the CPU, 32GB runs 7B to 8B models at 4-bit to 8-bit alongside the operating system and apps; larger models belong on a GPU or in a 64GB or bigger kit.

Questions and answers

Will this kit work with my motherboard?
It fits any DDR5 desktop board, and its EXPO profiles target AMD AM5 (Ryzen 7000 and 9000). Intel boards can run it at default speed or with manual settings. It does not fit DDR4 boards.
What is the ultra-low-latency EXPO profile?
Profile 1 runs 6,000 MT/s with tighter secondary timings (30-38-38-32) for lower latency on Ryzen systems; profile 2 is a standard 30-38-38-96 profile. Both use 1.35V. Try profile 1 first and fall back to profile 2 if a system is not stable.
Does it have RGB lighting?
Yes. The light bar can be controlled from the RGB software of major motherboard makers (ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, ASRock) or from the memory maker's own software.
Is 32GB enough?
32GB is the standard amount for a 2026 gaming PC: modern games, voice chat and a browser full of tabs run comfortably, and it handles 1080p and 1440p video editing. For local AI on the CPU, 32GB runs 7B to 8B models at 4-bit to 8-bit alongside the operating system and apps; larger models belong on a GPU or in a 64GB or bigger kit.
Can I add another kit later?
Memory makers sell kits as matched sets and advise against mixing kits, even identical ones, because the modules are tested together. Buy the total capacity you want as one kit.
