Overview

The NVIDIA RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell is a compact workstation card with 4,352 CUDA cores, fifth-generation Tensor cores and 16GB of GDDR7 with ECC on a 128-bit bus, for 288 GB/s. NVIDIA rates it at 17 TFLOPS single precision and 545 AI TOPS (FP4 with sparsity). It is aimed at CAD, design visualization, video work and AI inference in small-form-factor and power-limited workstations, with NVIDIA's enterprise drivers and ISV certifications.

It is a low-profile, dual-slot card measuring 6.6 x 2.7 in (about 168 x 69 mm) with a blower fan, and it draws a maximum of 70W entirely from the PCIe slot, so it needs no power connector. It runs at PCIe 5.0 x8 on a full-length x16 connector. Outputs are four Mini DisplayPort 2.1b, driving up to four displays at 4K 165 Hz, and the pictured card is PNY's version (part VCNRTXPRO2000B-PB), which ships with a full-height bracket fitted, a low-profile bracket and four Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort adapters.

For local AI, 16GB holds 8B models at 8-bit and 12B to 14B models at 4-bit to 6-bit with a decent context window. At 288 GB/s, its memory bandwidth is lower than most current gaming cards, so token generation is slower than on those cards. CUDA support is broad, so PyTorch, llama.cpp, Ollama and most other AI frameworks run on it directly.

Questions and answers

Still unsure? Visit the help center or message us.

Does the RTX PRO 2000 need a power connector?

No. Its maximum power draw is 70W, all supplied through the PCIe slot, so it works in workstations and small-form-factor PCs whose power supplies have no PCIe power cables.

Will it fit a low-profile or small-form-factor PC?

It is a half-height, half-length card, 6.6 in long and 2.7 in tall (about 168 x 69 mm), but it is two slots thick, so the case needs two adjacent low-profile slots. PNY ships it with the full-height bracket fitted and a low-profile bracket in the box. It uses a full-length x16 connector, running at PCIe 5.0 x8, so it needs a physical x16 slot.

How does it compare with the Intel Arc Pro B50?

Both are 70W, low-profile, dual-slot cards with 16GB of memory, four Mini DisplayPort outputs and no power connector. The RTX PRO 2000 has faster memory, GDDR7 at 288 GB/s against GDDR6 at 224 GB/s on the B50, and it runs CUDA software, which the B50 cannot.

Which local AI models fit in 16GB of VRAM?

Roughly, 8B models at 8-bit and 12B to 14B models at 4-bit to 6-bit, with a decent context window. A 32B model at 4-bit needs around 20GB and will not fit entirely.

Does it have ECC memory and professional drivers?

Yes. The 16GB of GDDR7 uses error-correcting code, and the card runs NVIDIA's enterprise drivers with ISV certifications for major design and engineering applications. NVIDIA does not list Multi-Instance GPU (MIG) support for this card.
