Overview
The ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 5070 OC is a triple-fan partner card built on NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5070: Blackwell with 6,144 CUDA cores and 12GB of GDDR7 on a 192-bit bus, for up to 672 GB/s. ASUS runs it at 2,557 MHz boost out of the box and 2,587 MHz in OC mode, against NVIDIA's 2,510 MHz reference figure. It is aimed at 1440p gaming at high settings, with DLSS upscaling for 4K in many games.
It measures 304 x 126 x 50 mm and is 2.5 slots thick, and ASUS lists it as SFF-Ready for compact builds. It takes one 16-pin power connector, ASUS recommends a 750W power supply, and NVIDIA's reference total graphics power for the RTX 5070 is 250W; ASUS does not publish a separate figure for this model. Cooling uses three Axial-tech fans and a phase-change GPU thermal pad, with fans that stop under light load, dual BIOS (Performance and Quiet), GPU Guard and a vented backplate. Outputs are one HDMI 2.1b and three DisplayPort 2.1b, and ASUS lists no Aura Sync lighting for this model.
For local AI, 12GB holds 7B to 8B models at 8-bit, or models around 14B at 4-bit with a modest context window. Larger models, such as a 32B model at 4-bit (around 20GB), will not fit. CUDA support is broad, so PyTorch, llama.cpp, Ollama and most other AI tools run on it directly.

Questions and answers

What power supply does the Prime RTX 5070 need?
ASUS recommends 750W for this model, based on a fully overclocked CPU and GPU; NVIDIA's figure for a reference RTX 5070 is 650W. The card takes one 16-pin connector; use a native 16-pin cable from a PCIe 5.0 power supply or the included 1-to-2 adapter for 8-pin cables. Push the 16-pin plug in until it is fully seated with no visible gap, and avoid bending the cable sharply right at the connector.
Will the Prime RTX 5070 fit my case?
It is 304 mm long, 126 mm tall and 50 mm thick (2.5 slots), and ASUS lists it as SFF-Ready, so it suits many compact cases as well as standard towers. Check your case's graphics card length limit and the room above the card for the 16-pin cable before ordering.
How is it different from a standard RTX 5070?
The GPU, 6,144 CUDA cores and 12GB of GDDR7 at 672 GB/s are the same on every RTX 5070. ASUS raises the boost clock to 2,557 MHz by default and 2,587 MHz in OC mode, against NVIDIA's 2,510 MHz reference, and uses a 2.5-slot triple-fan cooler with dual BIOS and fans that stop under light load.
Which local AI models fit in 12GB of VRAM?
Roughly, 7B to 8B models at 8-bit, or models around 14B at 4-bit with a modest context window. A 32B model at 4-bit needs around 20GB and will not fit.
Can it run CUDA software?
Yes. It supports CUDA, so AI frameworks such as PyTorch, llama.cpp and Ollama, along with CUDA-accelerated rendering and video tools, run on it. NVIDIA's Studio Driver is available for creative applications alongside the Game Ready Driver.
