Overview
The Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC 16GB is Gigabyte's factory-overclocked RX 9070 XT, which was Amazon US's best-selling graphics card in early September 2026. It has 4,096 stream processors and 16GB of GDDR6 on a 256-bit bus at 20 Gbps, for 640 GB/s of bandwidth. Gigabyte runs it at 3,060 MHz boost out of the box, against AMD's 2,970 MHz reference figure. It is built for 1440p at high refresh rates and 4K with FSR 4.
It is 288 mm long and 56 mm thick (about 3 slots) and takes three 8-pin cables, so check that your power supply has three PCIe leads. Board power is 304W (AMD reference; Gigabyte publishes no figure), Gigabyte recommends a 850W power supply, and it takes 3x 8-pin PCIe. For cooling it uses WINDFORCE: three Hawk fans spinning in alternate directions with fan stop, a vapor chamber, composite copper heat pipes and server-grade thermal gel. Other features: dual BIOS (Performance / Silent), RGB lighting, metal backplate, power-fault LED.
For local AI, 16GB holds 8B models at 8-bit and 12B to 14B models at 4-bit to 6-bit with a useful context window, and 640 GB/s of bandwidth sets how fast tokens come out. A 32B model at 4-bit needs about 20GB and will not fit entirely. AMD supports RDNA 4 in ROCm, and llama.cpp, Ollama and LM Studio run on it through ROCm or Vulkan; tools that only support CUDA will not run on it.

Questions and answers
Still unsure? Visit the help center or message us.
What power supply does the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC need?
Gigabyte recommends 850W, which allows for a high-end CPU as well. It uses 3x 8-pin PCIe, standard cables that most power supplies have.
Will the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC fit my case?
It is 288 mm long and 56 mm thick (about 3 slots) and takes three 8-pin cables, so check that your power supply has three PCIe leads.
Is 16GB enough for local AI?
For local AI, 16GB holds 8B models at 8-bit and 12B to 14B models at 4-bit to 6-bit with a useful context window, and 640 GB/s of bandwidth sets how fast tokens come out. A 32B model at 4-bit needs about 20GB and will not fit entirely.
Does it work with AI tools that need CUDA?
No. CUDA is NVIDIA-only. AMD supports RDNA 4 in ROCm, and llama.cpp, Ollama and LM Studio run on it through ROCm or Vulkan, so popular local-AI apps work, but tools written only for CUDA do not.
